A standalone mystery by Lloyd W. Alexander
Three women. Three red dresses.
One face cut from an old photograph.
A cemetery walk and an old notebook draw a group of South Portland friends into a mystery that reaches far beyond their familiar gathering place. As modern detectives follow the clues, three missing women’s lives begin to emerge from generations of uncertainty.

The Account That Sparked the Story
The story was inspired by a published account of women reportedly observed wearing red dresses in viewing coffins in Portland, Maine. Their identities and any connection between the reported observations remain unverified.
Three Women in Red is fiction. Its characters, linked disappearances, evidence, and investigation are invented; the book does not claim to solve the reported historical mystery.
Meet the Friends Who Find the First Clues
The Bug Light Boys bring their curiosity, humor, and friendship to the beginning of this mystery. You do not need to have read their series to enjoy this standalone book.
Publication details will be announced when the book is ready. Follow Lloyd’s Collective for updates.
